Having recently struggled looking for advice and recommendations on which products to buy before and after the birth of our son, I thought it would be a help to put together a site that helps to clear some of the confusion and contradictions that you meet when shopping for your baby. It seemed that each shop we went into provided advice and recommendations that were both contradictory and confusing, and at a time of high emotions, it only hindered the buying process. It would have been nice to be presented with the simple facts of what to look for and what features are of value and what features are pure marketing!
Many Web sites allow parents to provide review of products, but we felt that reading through pages of 1 or 2 paragraph reviews only added to our confusion. Each person will have a slightly different perspective upon the usefulness and value of a product. What we have tried to do is not give biased review based upon our own specific requirements, more advice that would be of value to the wider audience. Each product has a particular target group, and we have tried to understand the requirements of each group before attempting to review or discuss a product. Reviewing a jogging stroller when you only need a small lightweight stroller with ultimately lead to comments regarding its high weight and large size and a potential poor review. We try to base reviews from the perspective of the intended audience, so a jogging stroller review would include the strengths a weaknesses when the stroller is used for jogging, and will be compared with similar strollers that also claim the same features. This will hopefully provide a more useful service to our readers. However, if you feel that we can do things better, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Whilst product selection can be somewhat subjective, I feel that being provided you with factual information, rather than sales and marketing information, it can make you a more informed buyer. This way you will not end up with cupboards full of unused products. Whilst eBay can help here, it makes more sense to not spend (and waste !) the time and money in the first place.
The best products …
We have tried to be very selective in the products that we list. We only include products that are at the top of most families shopping list; strollers, feeding, car seats, etc. Whilst we sometimes include more obscure and non-essential products, we feel that more help can be provided by concentrating on these items.
The Buyers Guide includes factual information to help you make any decisions, providing some guidance to the product features to look.
Recommendations is where we have collected the cream of the crop. This section will grow over time, so excuse if some sections look a little bare.

There are now many retailers that specialise in newborn and baby products. It is getting an ever-crowded and ever-confusing market for shoppers. When first stepping out into the retail frenzy, it can be a very daunting and confusing experience.
We have picked retailers that we have personally purchased products from and where we believe you can get the widest product selection. We also believe in good customer service and hope that the retailers we list provide you with the continued high level of customer service that we have become used to.
